He was the vice president and president of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering of Koc University in Istanbul, Türkiye. Highly advanced theoretical and experimental research has been carried out in nano scale, molecular and neural communication, interconnection of everything, information physics systems, 5G and terahertz wireless mobile networks, distributed social sensing, cognitive radio and sensor networks. He is also a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Koc University in Istanbul, Türkiye, and director of the Next Generation and Wireless Communications Laboratory (NWCL). The professor is also an IEEE member. He is the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IET Communications, and IEEE Networking Letters, and the Editor of the Nano Communication Networks Journal (Elsevier). He has served as the editor of International Journal of Communication Systems (Wiley), European Transactions on Telecommunications, and Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies (Wiley), co chairs of EEE INFOCOM 2017, ACM MobiCom 2012, and IEEE MoNaCom 2012, as well as co chairs of TPC for ACM NanoCom 2014, IEEE ISCC 2012, and ACM MSWiM 2010. He is also the Vice President of the Türkiye Branch of the IEEE Communications Society, a member of ACM and IET. The professor was supported by the European Research Council (ERC) integrators in 2014-2019 and the ERC proof of concept (PoC) in 2017. He was appointed as an Outstanding Lecturer at the IEEE Nanotechnology Committee (NTC) in 2011, 2017, and was appointed as an Outstanding Lecturer at the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) in 2012, 2014. He won the 2014 TUBITAK Young Scientist Award, 2014 and 2014 Kochi University Annual Outstanding Teacher Award, 2014 Future Scientist Award, Kadir Hass University, 2012 Young Scientist Award (BAGEP 2011), School of Science, 2010 Annual Outstanding Teacher Award, Kochi University School of Engineering, 2010 IBM Shared University Research (SUR) Award, IEEE Communications Society 2008 Europe, Outstanding Young Researcher Award in the Middle East and Africa (runner up), 2008 IBM Teacher Award, 2005 IBM Teacher Award, Türkiye Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientist Award 2008 (TUBA-GEBIP), TUBITAK Career Award in 2005.

  项目背景

  近年来,硬件集成电路日益成熟。现代通信系统将信息映射到二进制符号序列,使用先进编码、传输和接收技术组合,处理数字信号,运转速率可达几百兆赫甚至是千兆赫,通信系统性能因此接近理论上限。项目将围绕着支撑当代通信系统的原理和技术展开,深入探讨如何突破数字通信理论极限。In recent years, hardware integrated circuits have become increasingly mature. Modern communication systems map information to binary symbol sequences, use advanced coding, transmission and reception technologies to process digital signals, and the operating speed can reach hundreds of megahertz or even gigahertz. Therefore, the performance of communication systems is close to the theoretical upper limit. The project will focus on the principles and technologies supporting contemporary communication systems, and deeply discuss how to break through the theoretical limits of digital communication.

  The project includes digital signal modulation and demodulation, signal orthogonality and Fourier analysis. Through the project, students will master the basic theoretical knowledge of digital signal communication, understand the coding, transmission and reception technologies in the communication system, submit the project report and display the results at the end of the project.
